A nuclear bomb has been dropped on Survivor: Cagayan. |
But really...INSANE. It's crystal clear that my winner pick--I can't believe I even picked her, now--of J'Tia will not be surviving in the game much longer. But however long she lasts, it will be entertaining. And when J'Tia goes, she will flame out spectacularly...like she already has.
Alright, we'll make this short and sweet for tonight. I'll answer just the three burning questions that I'm sure you had about the episode.
#1: How can the Brains tribe be THIS BAD?!
Good question. I'm glad you asked. Are they the worst tribe (so far) in Survivor history? Without a doubt. Luzon voted out their two strongest players and is in the perfect position to be annihilated pre-merge. Garrett was a blustering idiot who was voted out with an idol in his pocket after putting over 2000 hours into preparing for the game. I have more sympathy for David, but he too was blindsided. And J'Tia=Brandon Hantz.
Tony has begun his transformation into Russell Hantz! |
The Spy Shack! Tony has begun his transformation into Russell Hantz! I realize it might be a little early to be making any Russell comparisons, but if I had to pick a player that Tony was most like, I would certainly say Russell. The Spy Shack itself (which I love) is not that amazing in actuality, but the fact that Tony's thinking about such things bodes well for him in the future...as long as he can keep it under wraps. And he's got an idol in his pocket to boot. He needs to fess up about being a cop (which he will) and then he could be in a great spot in this game.
#3: Who will get the idol?
Aha! You didn't think I'd ask a real question, did you? You may not have caught this (you probably did, actually) but there is still an idol at the Luzon camp buried in Garrett's bag, just waiting for...I don't know. A CRAZY NUCLEAR ENGINEER to come pick it up?! Who knows how long J'Tia would survive in this game with an idol? I'd prefer for Kass or Spencer to get it, because I like Kass and Spencer is on the outs, but I'm not sure about the rules here. Technically, the idol is Garrett's possession, but now that he's gone, what happens? When Colton was evacuated, he took his idol with him, and I don't know if we've ever had a situation where someone was so confident that they didn't even bring the idol and their bag with them to Tribal when they were voted out--there's no precedent.
All right, that's it for this quick recap...time to sleep. Tomorrow, Ethan I will talk about every angle of this crazy premiere from top to bottom, so stay tuned!
