Mid-Week 6 Recap on BBCAN

Arlie may have cut his ties with
Sarah and Kenny.
At last, we have someone making good decisions in the Big Brother Canada house...and it comes from an unexpected place...Heather! Let's break down this crazy turn of events, shall we? (Image credit Slice)

So Heather wins HOH as Arlie and Neda (smartly) throw the competition again, putting the new alliance safely in control of the house.

Apparently, though, Arlie was somehow obvious about this throw--I didn't think he was, but maybe it was an easy question--and Sarah immediately grows suspicious of him. She says she's got his number and this seems to cement himself with the new alliance, possibly cutting his ties with Sarah and Kenny, although I think Arlie will be able to work his magic and stay good with that side of the house.

As soon as Heather wins, she starts showing her strategic chops and plans to backdoor Kenny with Sabrina and Rachelle as the pawns. This is a great idea; Kenny is much more likely to win the POV, and even if he does, you can just send home Sabrina. But for some insane reason, Adel talks her out of it, saying that Kenny should get to fight for the Veto...what?!??!!

Heather continues to make smart moves this week as she puts Kenny on Slop in an attempt to further weaken him. Speaking of Slop, Sarah made a good choice as well by taking the Slop for herself and avoiding yet another Sabrina meltdown. It was all for nothing, though, because Rachelle (a Have Not) ate one of Heather's candies and put the whole house on Slop and cold showers for 48 hours!

I have to say that I enjoyed
 the sock puppets.
It was surely terrible for the Houseguests, but I enjoyed watching the whole process because this is the first season I've seen where the Slop rule was broken. It benefited Kenny and Rachelle, though, who were already Have Nots, of course.

So then we have the puppet challenge...and Big Brother certainly tricked me with the Instant Eviction talk. I probably should have seen it coming, but I was only half paying attention. It would have definitely been more exciting to have an Instant Eviction in the house, but I have to say that I enjoyed the sock puppets as well.

The only strategy-related event that resulted from the sock puppets happened when the Houseguests were preparing for what they thought was an Instant Eviction, Sabrina let slip that she wouldn't vote to keep Rachelle in the presumed Rachelle vs. Kenny vote...and Rachelle overheard. They talked about it (via puppet) afterwards, but I don't know if Sabrina and Rachelle will be able to mend their close bond completely.

Heather enjoyed tormenting Rachelle
now that she had the power, and I might
even go so far as to say it was justified.
Heather did slip up once this episode. I understand that she enjoyed tormenting Rachelle now that she had the power, and I might even go so far as to say it was justified, considering how Rachelle treated Heather just weeks earlier, but it certainly wasn't a great move for Heather's game to basically threaten Rachelle with the block and then not nominate her as a pawn. Instead, she should have been reassuring Rachelle that she wants to work together in the future.

The nominees ended up being Kenny and Allison, and I would guess that if Kenny doesn't win the POV, the new alliance will have the votes to send him home, so Kenny is my early pick to be evicted this week. But that's not all! We have a Double Eviction this week, and those are almost always exciting!

Survivor coverage takes over for the next few days as we prepare for and recap the next episode of Cagayan, but you can check back on Friday for my recap of the BBCAN Double Eviction, so stay tuned!
